How It Works

Step One - Have used running shoes you no longer need? Donate them to us! You can drop them off at one of our collection points. Every pair makes a difference!

Step Two - We ship the shoes to a 3rd party who refurbishes them and sends them to communities who need them.

Step Three - We earn $.82 for each pound of shoes we collect.

Step Four - Then, that money is donated directly to Hoosiers Outrun Cancer - our communities oldest and largest 5K charity event. 100% of the proceeds support local families by providing free cancer support services.

Our Partners

We partner with Sneakers 4 Good - a “Better Business Bureau” certified company that partners with organizations like the Boston Marathon and the St. Jude’s Marathon to recycle old shoes.

We send them used shoes. They pay us. We donate the money. They send the shoes to communities who can benefit from our old shoes. Bonus points - it keeps our old shoes out of landfills.

Hoosiers Outrun Cancer

Hoosiers Outrun Cancer is a beloved south central Indiana community celebration that honors loved ones who have been diagnosed with cancer. The event was started in 1999 by Karen Knight and Dorothy Ellis and regularly hosts nearly 5,000 runners, volunteers and spectators. Over the years the event has grown tremendously, becoming a celebration of survivorship and a remembrance tradition for many families and local businesses in Bloomington.

100% of proceeds fund free programs for local cancer patients. Free programs include individual counseling, group counseling, cooking classes, wigs, massage therapy and more.
